pellucid

Pellucid is a series of contemporary jewelry pieces based off the life cycle of a jellyfish. The word "pellucid" means crystal clear, a nod to the materials (plexiglass and aluminum) I used across all three necklaces. The choice of material is intentional to reinforce the idea of transparency by using clear plastic and a reflective metal to play off the characteristics of a jellyfish. The first project I did in my introductory jewelry class was centered around this same subject. I wanted to end my final semester of college with a more experienced and refined take on my initial approach to jewelry.
